How do I ship my items for Auction consignment?
Ungraded cards submitted at our Auction level must be shipped to COMC in card savers, toploaders, or One-Touch magnetic cases to ensure maximum protection during transit and processing. Screw-down cases are not accepted. Please note that we do not retain card savers and magnetic cases. The toploader an item arrives in may also be discarded if any e.g. scratches, discoloration, or tape prevent our staff from obtaining a clear scan.
Auction consignments must be sent with tracking and required signature confirmation upon delivery via your preferred package delivery service. We recommend one-day shipping such as USPS Express for more valuable submissions.
Can I ship my auction consignment along with my other COMC submissions?
Yes, we encourage you to save on shipping by including your auction consignment in the same package as your traditional COMC consignment submissions.
Select all the service levels you would like to use in the online Submission Wizard. You will be asked to provide the quantity and estimated value of each group of items. When you print the submission slips, please detach each slip and include them with the corresponding groups of items so it’s clear to us which items belong to each service level.
What happens if my Auction submission is deemed to be of insufficient value to be eligible for the Auction service?
The minimum transaction fee per auction item is $3.50, regardless of the price it sells for at auction or whether it even sells. To ensure consignors have a good experience, we reserve the right to change the service level of Auction submissions that primarily consist of items valued less than $10 to our Standard (fixed-price) processing service level.
Can I submit items that are remotely stored for Auction?
Yes, but the timeline for when it will appear in auctions will differ. When you submit an item that is remotely stored, a prompt will appear indicating that an additional two weeks of time will be needed for that item to make its way to our headquarters to begin the COMC auction consignment process.
For Canadian consignors, our Canadian location does accept auction consignment submissions. However, there is a delay, as auction submission originating in Canada are first moved to our United States location. This process takes 3-4 weeks for items to be listed for Auction.
